Socialist Progressives
Related: About this forumWell, I guess it's a function of popularity.........
We're at 368 members now in our little Kaffeeklatch and more and more people in general are becoming open to the "socialist" label, that you can now consider yourself to be "socialist" if you're to the left of Donald Trump. That's NOT how it works folks. Nobody can stop you from calling yourself a "socialist" while supporting capitalism and empire, but it don't mean you is one.
Congrats to all who got us to this point as a group though. 368 members in a socialist group is not too shabby for a left(?)-reformist web site.

Thanks for weighing in.

(11,481 posts)That's also a function of popularity. That doesn't mean that you or I would recognize them as "socialist".

(6,719 posts)I never joined a group before. I was kicked out of the clinton group when I did not know I was even in it! Was just posting a response to a comment. Anyway. How does this work? I have been looking for a progressive group. Maybe there is more than one progressive group? Dunno. Thank you.

Just post in here. Most of us are socialists of various types.
ETA - Realized I should have been a little more detailed (in a hurry this morning). There's an orange button above that says "subscribe to group". This group will show up on your home page when you come to DU. Then you can click straight to it and read. There are other groups under activism that you might like to check out as well - there's an Occupy group for example. Many like-minded folks.
