I really wish there was a Kurdish state... I suspect it would be a guiding light in modernity in the Middle East - more so than even Turkey.

Well they have it now in the free Kurdish areas of northern Syria. The problem is they're being attacked by ISIS and also by Turkey so things are rough.

Also I've just never heard anything about it before.
But then again there are tons of people getting killed for somebody's honor in the United State so I'm not sure what to make of that.
