Propaganda Debunking
Related: About this forumI'm a Republican
Here in Colorado there are TV ads running constantly about how schools for all, personal rights, advancement in society are all important and part of the American Dream. The end of the ad, actors say that they are Republicans. Lies, all lies, they drive me nuts. Has anyone else seen these ads? What are your thoughts?

And they are running often. This is on Ohio stations, so apparently this is all over the country.
The first one that I noticed had so many blacks and Hispanics and Asians....and lots of women. Many young people. And you are right, they are full of lies. The only thing that isn't a lie is the "personal responsibility" statement, and as usual, that is presented as a good thing. It always is with Republicans until they find themselves needing help---then it is some extraordinary circumstance in their life. I also believe in personal responsibility, but I have no doubt that my definition and their definition are miles apart.
I will have to pay more attention to these ads before I can discuss them in more detail.
ETA: I just saw another ad. These ads are put out by an organization called Opportunity Lives, and they claim to be a news website. The site loaded really slow for me and had no examples of the ads we are seeing. It is just a web page with conservative news, or what they call news....like Fox "News".

(1 post)It just seems completely difficult to believe that a hardcore, racist, homophobic, anti-women, ultra-conservative party like the GOP is taking "Hitler/Nazi-istic-style" approach with complete bullshit and propaganda. I'm a bit taken back on how falsely they have positioned themselves in a desperate effort to try and garner voters with this website's message. I hope that the rest of America wakes the fuck up and smells this bullshit and quickly identifies it as such. It's not only misleading, but it's also false advertising in the truest sense.
