Propaganda Debunking
Related: About this forumI have my doubts about CNN
So I'm stuck over in Japan as the Doturd and his GOP lackeys further attempt to destroy our country. The headlines over here on CNN are all behind 45 and his awful ways. What you are seeing in the states is very different than what the rest of the world sees from CNN.
This pisses me off. Sorry for the language.

(16,104 posts)They are repeatedly highlighting the Dotard's "first major achievement," "the biggest tax break in a generation," "the most impactful legislation in 35 years," "the Christmas present promised" by the Dotard, "the salvation of the Republican Party."
Sound about right?

(42,770 posts)Very hard to fight and argue against. February paychecks will be bigger. Long term deficit effects and that the rich will get richer .... people won't care enough about. Think they actually won a big one here.

(7,142 posts)that you are watching CNN International. It always did lean further right. The notion that the M$M is liberal is a right wing narrative that is a lie.
I used this example before; Fox says that Obama beats his wife, msnbc says that he doesn't, and CNN says that we need more input to decide.
Do you get what I am saying? It's the narrative that is being controlled. The 3 networks are still talking about Obama beating his wife even if msnbc claims he doesn't.
Now, substitute Obama beats his wife for the myriad of topics that are being discussed on cable news today.
No talk about how the 3 Congressional committees investigating the Trump/Russian collusion are simply dog and pony shows whose purpose is to cover for Trump and not to do any real investigation.
The last outspoken, strong, powerful, Democratic voice was Ted Kennedy. Democrats need another Ted Kennedy, and need him soon. Bernie came close, but the M$M was complicit in demonizing him, labeling him, rendering his message moot.
Someone needs to step forward and it doesn't even have to be a Congressman, we need him/her soon.

(37,352 posts)... tend to lean right. Actual reporters are a little left of center, not by much. But the guy who owns the network/station/press -- and that almost always means someone in the top 1% -- sets the overall policies, and reporters who buck the policy don't last long.

(4,558 posts)However, don't make the common mistake that makes them objective.
Fox news is a strongly right leaning news "entertainment" network.
MSNBC is a strongly left leaning news network.
CNN is neither, they are click-bait sensational news. They focus on the negative of everything that will get the most viewers, ratings, and advertiser $$.
None of the 3 major cable news networks are liberal. CNN leans right.
If msnbc is so liberal why have they fired so many liberal news anchors? Starting with Phil Donahue, Keith Olbermann, Martin Brashear, Elizabeth Harris/Perry, my favorite Dylan Ratigan, oh and the controversial Cenk Uygar.
There are several liberal anchors on msnbc right now, I agree, but if they stray too far from the narrative they will be fired in a heart beat.

(11,522 posts)until now. The illusion of "fair and balanced" that they present in the US is not the crap they spew overseas.
