Should Every Klan Member Be Prosecuted?
I say yes.
The Klan is a terror organization, and has terrorized citizens for decades.
It is a terror organization, and being a member makes you partially responsible.
They should all be prosecuted.
Sorry if I offended any DU Klansmen.....

(16,974 posts)And anyboby charged and convicted should be incarcerated. But I have served in the armed forces to protect even their disgusting speech rights. You seem to think even belonging to a group should bring jail time. Slippery slope, does that also mean BLM and OWS people all should be thrown in jail?

(1,926 posts)It's the things they do other than speaking I am referring to.
BLM isn't planning on burning crosses on any lawn of policemen.

They actually track hate groups, including the KKK and neo-Nazi groups, and work to prosecute hate group members that commit hate crimes.
They are a great organization that does the actual work of trying to bring these people to justice.

(44,173 posts)Such a precedent would be used for arresting anybody who was a gang member. Being in a gang is not by itself a crime.

(10 posts)I want to say yes. But my values say that no group nor organization should face persecution. (libertarian-blue belief) Even as much as I hate the Ku Klux Klan, I can't allow a mass persecution, because that makes me a hypocrite and taints my reputation. And this is coming from a big time Public Enemy fan. I can't --- however, we can reduce their power through awareness and tolerance campaigns.
Hate me for saying this, but I don't care. And honestly, I'd have to poll the population for an answer. ("puppet of the people" belief)
