little dears proliferate.
Last fall I was visiting there, and gnats were annoying me and the others I was with.
I grew up with them (gnats), and they must have been around all the time...but I don't remember them being around all that much. I can remember once or twice when I was in a shady spot.
When it's cool/cold they don't come around.
Your experience with gnats? Under what circumstances do they make their annoying presence known?

(16,952 posts)I've always taken them for granted. You know what horrible, tho? Breathing one in. Hate that.

(53,410 posts)As a kid I always thought they looked kind of cool all swarming around in the sunlight. The only time you could see them was if the light was behind them. Otherwise they were invisible and you'd walk right into them. If you were talking at the time you could easily get a couple in your mouth.
I hadn't thought of that in years.
