(30,300 posts)They're just starting to bud here now. I have them in a wildflower bed in my garden, along with blue Bachelor Buttons, Blackeyed Susans, and not-so-wild, Hollyhocks.

(3,151 posts)I also like hydrangeas.
But my absolute favorite flowers to have in pots are begonias and New Guinea impatiens because they are so pretty and low-maintenance.
Aristus
(72,528 posts)It isn't really silver. It's a very pale lavender. But it's beautiful. You don't see it around much, because it's very difficult to cultivate. That gives it rarity value, as well.

(23,763 posts)I would love a variety which would bloom all summer. There are reblooming iris but they do not do well here because our summers are too hot and too long.
I wish daffodils would last longer too.
Wicked Blue
(9,025 posts)I'm unable to choose just one of them
Figarosmom
(13,438 posts)But the only flower I insist on for formal occasions is the Lily of the Valley. Had them all over the church and in my bouquet for my wedding ( got married in May just because that is the time of year for them).
I also like Roses and Dalhias.

(77,306 posts)And hour & a half to 2 hours southeast of Budapest, I visited an edible oil processing plant that was almost exclusively sunflower oil.
The squeezed the seeds for oil, the ground the rest for livestock feed.
For the last 25 miles or so, the fields were sunflowers for as far as the eye could see in every direction.
All we could see was yellow!
As to your question, I think roses, but I have liked snapdragons since I was a little kid.
