(10,935 posts)Worked at s high end shoe store all through college. Got my shoes at cost. I had so many Italian shoes it's not funny. And boots, don't even get me started.

Boy I loved my Miramonte wedges so much. But with leather soles they'd be too slippery for me now.

(2,226 posts)When we were travelling around Europe, over the years, I always made it a point to visit the lot stores in various cities.
I knew it was bad when the folks at the store in Venice remembered me and the shoes Ive purchased over the years (before they implemented a CRM data system!) jeeze

About appearance as well as service and function.
This would have been in the Iron Age maybe at the beginning of the Roman empire.
