So I've been using the fizzing tablets for all the several years, and only wear the fixtures when am going to be around people and never eating with them on, the rest of the whole existence them just soaking in the fizz. Well, might as well name the "fixture" so as not to prolong any confusion: PARTIALS, o.k.?
So a couple of months ago, for the first time, discovered *black goo* on the things, and I panicked paranoid that it might be *mold* and having seen a YouTube about mold or stuff in oral situations going directly to the heart. So went to a dentist, which is not a regular thing and probably why I have partials. The dental crew went to town - serious cash, Xrays, deep cleaning - all without giving an answer about the goo beyond "change the water more often." Renewing my suspicion that there's a racket involved.
So then, whatever algorithm is attached to me, a popup popped up regarding an ultrasound cleaner thing claiming to be the cat's meow over old fashioned tablets and brushes - and even cleaning jewelry! So I bit, so to speak. Said it was coming from a warehouse in Utah, but surprise, took three weeks because it was coming from Singapore.
So got here then I avoided using it a couple of days till today. Paranoid it might blow up. But simple enough: Water, object in the water, plug in, and press the button. Running time 5 minutes. So did the partials, no noticeable difference. There has been no goo since the discovery, used baking soda and brush back then. Then did my original dog tag and a medal, expecting to see bright and shiny polish. Nothing really to see in the outcome.
So the thing cleans bacteria. But not really buffing up the jewelry? Is the whole thing an actual "thing" or just a scam?

(2,006 posts)Clean carburetors and other parts. I think five minutes isnt long enough. What I mentioned gets left ultrasounding for an hour. Maybe try ten minutes? Ultrasonic cleaners are very good. Just need to find the right solution and time. I think youre onto something here

(76,662 posts)a quality machine. And the instructions on this one say that, yes the 5 minutes can be repeated but that after three times it needs five minutes' rest. I will do repeats but with the rests in between. Before it got here I mentioned it to my doctor and he was positive like you. When I said it is Made in China, he said, "Everything is."
Thanks again. I'm intrigued about carburetors and an hour - like, am trying to picture big machines and a trough.
