Consider making a donation for Christmas. Here are my stats for the 2024 and 2025 below. I'm going in again for Platelets Wednesday.

Platelet Donation Requirements
Donation frequency: Every 7 days, up to 24 times/year*
You must be in good health and feeling well**
You must be at least 17 years old in most states
You must weigh at least 110 pounds

My late friends, (seven of them), competed among themselves for the honor of donating the most products. I've never been an acceptable donee.

I was unable to donate blood for nearly 20 years because I was stationed in England during the 80s and 90s when the Mad Cow disease happened. It wasn't until about two years ago that restriction was lifted and I was able to donate again. My first donation was blood and then they asked if I could do platelets. Since then, all my donations have been platelets with some a double platelet donation which takes about two hours. The blood bank texted me asking if I could make another donation but I had to decline because I had dental surgery for implants and that disqualified me for donating for 90 days. I figure I'll be able to donate again in late January or early February.
