Friday Night Gin Buzz. Ask me anything.

Two shots to get the party started. Now, a Delmonico #1. I’ve had this one before. Gin, cognac, sweet and dry vermouth, and two dashes of Angostura bitters. Yummy!

Not a bad week in clinic.

Looking forward to the weekend.

I love you all…

are supposed to be good for arthritis?

I heard this a couple of decades ago. I don't know that it helps arthritis, but the gin tasted like eiswein. It was great!

It shouldn’t come as surprise that, throughout history, people have placed a great deal of reliance of alcohol-based treatments.

Patients are already consulting “Dr. Google” for their little aches and pains. But when their keyword searching, devoid of training, experience, and clinical judgement fails, they come to see me.

1) I've yet to be right.

2) I always gravitate to the worst possible scenario.

It turns out that those who have degrees from 4 to 7 years of schooling (or more) might actually know something. Who woulda thunk it?

But, you know, while you're waiting for days or weeks (or months) or answers to some ailments, it's natural to get curious and see if you can diagnose it yourself, even if it's almost always an exercise in futility.

First day of PA school: “Common diseases are common because they’re common.” That may be overstating the case a bit, but you get the idea. Whatever your condition, it’s likely to be something very commonplace. But we always keep the worst-case scenario in the backs of our minds when examining and diagnosing you.
