I was donating platelets at the Red Cross. My phlebotomist said my spots could be the BIG C. I just got home from the dermatologist. They are nothing to worry about. He could freeze them and remove them IF I wanted. I said no and came home.
You might remember about a month ago, a CAT scan of my diaphragm was also negative.
Today is a great day, in spite of the crappy weather.

(6,528 posts)I've had a couple, or so, frozen. And about 3 cut out.
My dermatologist says I'm paying the price for my times in the southwest deserts.
And use sunscreen.

(31,034 posts)could be melanoma. benign. the wound she left behind took weeks to heal, but it's worth it to know I think. I went to her with a growth on my forehead and that one did turn out to be a squamous cell carcinoma requiring a MOHS procedure. So it's good that they sent you for a biopsy even though. Glad you're well!

(3,271 posts)I donate whole blood and have done the Power Red in the past. And was just reading about platelets that are used for cancer patients.
Whats it like? I read that it takes longer to donate and you can do so more frequently. As a platelet donor do you recommend others to do same?

(1,008 posts)I have a tooth ache and went in to the dentist thinking I'll probably have to get a root canal done. But she said there was nothing wrong with the tooth and it's an infected gum. I just have to rinse my mouth with a special wash. Lucky break.
