Friday Night Bourbon Buzz. Ask me anything.

Two shots to get the party started. Now a Waldorf cocktail. Bourbon, Pernod, sweet vermouth, and Angostura bitters. It’s okay. Not wild about it.

Looking forward to a relaxing weekend after a monumentally exhausting week in clinic.

I love you all…

Plus, a lot of patients showing up late. By the time the MA has them roomed and their vital signs taken, there’s like, five minutes left in their appointment slot.

Then they want things over and above what they were scheduled for.

The audacity…

Favorite side dish: stuffing. Even the stuff out of the box is delicious. Add sausage, and I will follow you anywhere. Add oysters, and I will look for a window to jump out of.

Remind me to give you my sausage and mushroom stuffing recipe. I think you will like it. As for the boxed/packaged ones, some are truly delicious. I actually found a jalapeno/cornbread one. yummm. Using stock or broth instead of water is always good, too.

Parboil unskinned sweet potatoes until almost done. Cool, peel, cut into slices about 1/4 inch thick or small cubes. Put in buttered casserole dish. Add bourbon, brown sugar, and butter to taste. (The note on the original recipe said she thought about 1/cup bourbon per intended serving was adequate!). Cover, put in preheated 350 degree oven about 35-40 minutes. One friend went a step further when I gave her the recipe, and whipped the whole thing into mashed potatoes when done.

allow me to recommend our Washington State offering: Woodinville Bourbon.

It’s smooth, sweet, and has a hint of cinnamon.

🥃

Woodinville also produces a bourbon aged in port casks; it’s okay. But if I want port, I drink port. They also make a rye whiskey, which I tried, but it didn’t change my dislike of rye.

several very good craft distilleries here, for which I am grateful.

Agree about port, and rye.

Here’s my question:

In terms of evolution of the species, why are Homo sapiens superior to all other animals.?

Except for Trump, of course.

Have a great weekend.

I’ve been having an argument with my wife who is an archeologist and your response will be the coup de gras.
