She’s deathly afraid of cats. And she’s been around them successfully. And she’s still scared of them. Which means no cat for me. I grew up with cats. My family always had a cat and a dog. The last cat, Sylvester, a beautiful black and white Angora that we rescued was the love of my family‘s life. He was 25 pounds and about 4 feet long. And was just simply gorgeous.

I was his boy. He used to get on the back of this easy chair we had in the living room. He would wash my entire head with his tongue. And I’d let him do it then go wash my hair. He was very much into grooming me. God, I loved that cat.

Yet I’ve been completely unable to persuade my wife into getting a cat.
