I'm a cat. You're just a human. Leave this sort of thing to me.

and one of the womenfolk saw it, that toaster would be in the wheelie bin ASAP!

Reminds me of a cartoon line: 'Hmmm, barbecued mouse!"

at an electrical outlet. I thought she was going senile but when I finally put my head down near it, I heard buzzing. She was alerting me to a bee's nest!!

He'd glance at the toaster, give it a sniff, and then go on with his life. And three weeks later 7 dozen mice will have conquered the kitchen.

I currently live on the third floor of a three story apartment building. Everyone has a patio or balcony. My two cats spend a small amount of time on my balcony every day. The pigeons no longer spend any time on my balcony.

I've only lived here about six months, and my cats still have not forgiven me for moving them from a small home with a front and back yard with lots of small mammals for them to kill and consume.

Pushed the start toasting lever down, he/she was in no danger. Just doing her/his job. And very well.
The cat always knows, they hear everything.
