The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office said 56-year-old Thomas Campbell Bolling Von Goetz entered the Holy Angels Catholic Church shortly after 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve during mass.

A witness followed Von Goetz as he exited the church to make sure he was leaving and saw him then assault another person by throwing tangerines.

Later that night, during midnight mass at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Von Goetz allegedly disrupted the service by pouring whiskey into the holy water and threatening to harm parishioners.

Von Goetz was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, defacing religious property, religious crime against a group, obstructing a religious exercise, threat of mass violence and disturbing the peace.

5. Back When I Was A Kid...

...I was a big shot altar boy at a cathedral church.
When I was in 7th or 8th grade, at the High Mass for Palm Sunday, and got came in the vestibule and starting screaming "God damn the catholic church." Over & over. Ushers tried to escort him out & he took a swing at him. The traffic cops came in and when he saw them he started flipping over the bulletin tables, hitting the pictures, (breaking the glass), all the time screaming & throwing F bombs.
Even the bishop was disturbed. Enough so, that he spoke into the mic and called off the ceremonial parts & just told people, "Let's just do communion and go home." He knew the 8 or 9 hundred people there were shook up.
