Edinburgh, Scotland or Cork, Ireland?

If you could move to and live in one of these cities, which would you choose and why? I've been to Edinburgh but not Cork, and I'd love to hear from those who have traveled to or lived in one or both as well as those just dreaming, like me.

We stayed near the castle and wandered little winding streets overlooking the bay — reminded me of San Francisco. And just as windy!

Each are very lovely. But I’d pick Cork. Much further south and better weather, relatively speaking.

You can understand what people are saying there and all of western Ireland is at your door.

Cobh is utterly charming! It is obviously a much smaller city than Edinburgh, as well as being in a completely different country. 🤔

I'm going to visit Ireland next year and will definitely be checking out Cork and Cobh. I do love Edinburgh but housing is so expensive. We also went to Dunbar, down the coast, and that was gorgeous and a bit more affordable.

... so, much as I love the place, I'd probably want to avoid it. Haven't heard anything about Cork.
