Enjoying a Caribbean Sunset tonight.

Not a real one, unfortunately. I’d love to be in The Bahamas right now. Or at least anywhere outside of this fractured country.

Oddly, a Caribbean Sunset includes no rum; it’s a gin cocktail. Gin, créme de banane, blue curaçao, a dash of grenadine, and a marischino cherry..

Yummy!

1. Sounds interesting, but I haven't drank gin in over 25 years.

My guess is that créme de banane is the flavor that permeates the cocktail and that the cocktail has a blue color. Are you drinking this straight or on the rocks?

It’s delicious. And just as you say, it’s a deep blue, and tastes of banana.

Haven’t talked to you in a while.

finally has some practical relevance! I only had to wait 40 years for it to happen.

I've mostly been working with my PCP to get my Lantus levels somewhat balanced and try to avoid using Humalog. Things are a bit complicated since my mealtimes and appetite vary throughout the day. I'm also supposed to visit with my cardiologist next week, but I didn't get my labs done in time and my cardiologist has just retired so I'm going to postpone that appointment.

Finally, I'm going to be moving to a new apartment by the end of the month. I've been bumping myself up/down a flight of stairs carrying a wheelchair for the past four years so I'll be glad to not do that anymore. That was a contributing factor when I had the abscess on the butt earlier this year. Talk about a literal PITA.

“…to drink gin neat.”

Gin is a good mixer. I love a great Sapphire Martini and a gin and tonic. But gin neat is an exercise in palatinal torture.

It’s sounds highly overrated.

OTOH, sex under the Konrad Adenauer Bridge over the Main river at night in the winter is not to be believed until it has been experienced.

I feel guilty going there since it is a notorious corporate tax haven. But it’s quiet, and there’s so little to do there that one feels no guilt about doing nothing all day.

of permanent ice cubes (of which I had a set of pink elephants).

Speaking of the gin in your original cocktail:.. .have you tried Brad Pitt's The Gardener" gin?

I have to recommend the multi award winning The Sassenach Wild Scottish Gin, created by Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser of Outlander). The botanicals in it were inspired by the Galloway region of Scotland where he grew up. He also has a multi award winning blended whisky and a tequila. If you follow him on Instagram, he often puts up a reel as bartender Sam, mixing cocktails using The Sassenach spirits. His spirits aren't in my local ABC stores in NC, so I buy them online, but they are available in some of the states. He's done bottle signings in NY, FL, CA...ok, I confess, I'm a huge fan of Outlander, including the books by Diana Gabaldon upon which the STARZ series is based.
