I have often returned it to them after they gave it to me. Usually with a: "Nope, don't need these." Of course, they have to throw them away once I touched them, even if I am careful to not touch the package with my bare hand. (I usually grab a napkin.) Health Dept. regulations, after all.

between sheets of waxed paper keeps the flour from flying all over my kitchen counter and floor - into the InstaPot it goes in pieces to be seared - add plenty of onions and tomato sauce. Cover, bring up the pressure and cook. Serve w/mashed potatoes. Yummy! (To be fair, I used to be able to afford round steak-big slab w/that cute little ring of a bone more often, so there the hammer sits in the utensil holder-not a junk drawer - I've diversified local spots in each, because I don't many drawers available - the kitchenware has taken over.)

That wooden mallet is just the thing to loosen the ice that builds up in the chest freezer. I’ve even taken it to work because I do pharmacy shipping and the gel packs tend to build up ice so you can’t get them out. Weirdly useful item in a big way!

The thing I’m pitching is a set of those plastic spoons for Chinese food that look like wee spoon rests. My son got them because he’s an impulse shopper and has never ONCE used them. We’re on the verge of a move and those suckers are about to fall into a black hole (along with a shit ton of other useless goodies).

I have purged my kitchen junk drawer so many times in the last year I have nothing left that I don't use or need.

Now the little kitchen utilities drawer is another story.

at their home.
It got covered up and “thanks” I just found it in the search.
It was probably old.

I have decided (with my wife's ok) that we should put rubber bands in a .ip lock.

It was a executive decision.

I have a vintage tall bookcase in my kitchen that holds my glass and metal baking dishes, a crockpot, some clear and stainless steel mixing large bowls.... basically stuff that is used infrequently but it is used.

On one of my shelves of this bookcase, are several file holders that I store craft paint, craft paint brushes, a few sharp kitchen knives with protective covers that I don't want anyone else using or misplacing. I found in one of the file folders, 3 separate cat medications from the year 2016 when our beloved black cat was still alive.

You'll be happy to know that I tossed all the expired cat medications in the trash.

We were going through Vancouver and was given a WOODEN spork for my snack. It made my appreciate and love our northern neighbors even more. They walk the walk when it comes to sustainability. We grab plastic cutlery and end up tossing it in a few minutes and it sits in a landfill forever.
They use cutlery that will return to the earth in time. Every time I see that spork it reminds me that we Americans are not as clever as we'd like to believe.
