2. When I was on Twitter, I followed more than one ham operator.

They always said they would be the ones who could still work when everything else went down.

Years ago, when a hurricane hit Florida, my mom couldn't reach her sister, who lived there. She was in the area that was supposed to be hit. Somehow, we were able to get my aunt's name and address on a list of possible missing persons. A local cab driver in her area would take names and addresses, and drive around in his free time, checking on these people. And through him, we found out that my mom's sister was okay.

Bless all the people who go out of their way to help in times of emergencies.
