(27,531 posts)I was outside, surveying the garden that wont be mine in three weeks. Moving to another house, so I have to start over again on a new garden. As they say, its all about the journey - not the destination.

(6,274 posts)leaving my gardens is always difficult. The one I have now would be especially difficult because my husband, who isn't outdoorsy at all, made me a beautiful rock garden/patio area last year. But I know it will happen eventually because my final house will be a smaller one story. I don't want to do stairs when I get older.

(27,531 posts)It occurs to me that gardening is an expression of optimism about well, everything in general. I say this while listening to some really dark music.

And I'm sorry that you're moving away from them. I hope your new yard and garden will flourish much as this one has.

(24,178 posts)from the old garden and will plant them in your new garden, if time allows (I know what moving is all about, packing and unpacking, rearranging and arranging, yada yada yada!). Hope your move will go smoothly.
I love the sizes of your Marigolds (? I am thinking that's what these are).
There's nothing more that I love is to wander through a garden and enjoy the sights, over the course of a year, and especially in the fall, when it's harvest time. The pumpkins and gourds look wonderful too.
Good luck to you in your future garden and move!

(746 posts)I've forgotten the name of the plant with the large flowers. My grandmother used to have one just like it. Is it Hibscus? It is just lovely!
Love all your gourds and pumpkins, too.
Edited to say: Sorry, I didn't read the posts carefully enough! Thank you for the name of your lovely plant!

(27,531 posts)Garlic scapes from my crop this year. Asian Tempest garlic provided these curly stalks, which provided seasoning and accompaniment to many different dishes. The garlic may be too intense for some palates, but I aint got good sense.
