Wow, they packed a punch!! Within 8 hours, 101 fever, chills, headache, skin hurt and nausea. I finally gave in and took Advil to help. I try going without pain meds, but every time I get vaccinated, the headache and fever are just too debilitating. I know they say its okay to take pain meds AFTER vaccinations, but I do worry that I halt my immune system by doing so.
Howd everyone else do, if youve been vaccinated this time around?

(27,890 posts)Senior flu shot in right arm, Covid in left. No real side effects. Covid arm is sore but other than being a bit tired, I feel fine.

(27,890 posts)The second covid shot really knocked me out, fever, immobilizing pain, but since then they've been okay. This was my 7th Covid shot. I missed the last one.

(62,041 posts)... About the same as just taking one. I always have a little discomfort and with the two there was not any extra. Get 'em. I'm waiting for November till I get both down at the VA, we like to get our flu shots first week in November, and the new booster is released the end of October.

(2,259 posts)It was no worse than getting the COVID shot by itself, but I dont get a strong reaction other than feeling like my arm detached itself overnight, went partying, got into a rollover wreck, and snuck back in before dawn.
This year I cant. I caught my first COVID 3 weeks ago, so now I have to wait until November to get the updated vaccine. BOO! But my doc offered the flu shot, so what the heck.

(6,132 posts)I got the chills and felt like crap for a day but after that felt fine. Recently I got just the flu and Covid and felt a bit cruddy the next day but as as bad as with the three vaccines.

(6,132 posts)The symptoms I had were exactly those in the vaccination warning. Better to get a little sick from a vaccine than to get a lot sick from not being vaccinated.

(2,402 posts)Tend to get weak and dizzy, etc. No sense in doing a double whammy. Usually ok in a day or so, but would not combine vaccines.

(60,681 posts)So far, so good. Sore arm, but nothing else yet...
But then, I haven't had serious reactions before, so I'm hopeful.
