In recognition of his lost shaker of salt, no salted rim. Join me in pouring one out for the laid-back musician, good-time guy, and staunch Democrat, Jimmy Buffett.
You will be missed, sir.
Godspeed

I don't do tequila, but we're doing a cheeseburger (with our daughter, our idea of paradise) & a glass of wine to celebrate the life of one of the people who changed our lives for the better.
Rest in paradise.

(16,953 posts)what joy he brought to so many people. Was lucky enough to see him multiple times, in Florida, Indy and California. His 1999 concert in Indy stands out...my dad had just passed, we had his service in Chicago then went home to (at the time) Indianapolis. We had tickets to his show at Deer Creek....wifely unit asks...."you still want to go after all this..." yep, says I. Just think I need to.
It was a healing night. He did the first set solo, sitting on a platform out in the cheap (our) seats. The rest of the show was legend. There were other shows, all memorable (as many memories remain...). playing to folks who had seen him multiple times, as if they were seeing him for their first.
Damn I hate this. John Prine a couple years ago...and now Jimmy. Well, as Willie would say..."more than memories remain." Had my margarita today, we toasted Jimmy at the bar. Now it's time to explore YouTube, and marvel and rejoice, at the life of Jimmy Buffett.
