Now see, all these people in front are getting horribly smashed here...

Grateful Dead, Barton Hall, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY 5/8/77, Set 2 opener.

Take a Step Back--->Scarlet Begonias--->Fire on the Mountain

46 years ago, considered my many, including myself, to be one of the Dead's finest moments.

Just superb, especially Phil Lesh's bass line at the beginning of Scarlet.

Saw this live. My ticket stub is below.

Take a step back. Then all your friends up front won't be real bug-eyed.

What a memory. I was 18.

Unfortunately, the Rongo closed in 2016 due to financial reasons. LuckyCharms Aug 2023 #6

and while there is a lot I remember, there is a lot I don't. There was/is always a lot of snow in Ithaca.

Stewart Park, Buttermilk Falls.

Rulloff's and The Nines in college town.

Sometimes we would drive to Trumansburg and go to the Rongovian Embassy.

It was a cold rain on the way to the show and while standing in line.

When we got out, it was snowing like hell and the drive home was brutal. Several inches of snow.

Used to hang out at Johnny's, if it's still there.

it's pretty accurate, but there are a few inconsistencies (ie: they didn't play Egypt until 1978).

My wife is a Cornell alumna. She lived a couple of blocks downhill from college town.
