8. sad story behind it

decades ago in Austin Texas, a cat of mine died.......I received a lovely card from my veterinarian's office signed by the vet and his wife (both veterinarians), with this poem on the front - I too instantly loved it........ a couple of months later I read in the newspaper they died in a murder / suicide (he shot her, then himself)
