(60,182 posts)But I can't even conceive of the mentality of someone who would allow a horse to deteriorate to the condition he was in when he was found. How can ANYONE justify treating an animal like that? How can ANYONE see it and not care?

(4,405 posts)Just this past week we learned that one of our neighbors had moved out, leaving behind 15 cats. A family next door took in six of them, but the others are apparently roaming through the neighborhood now as abandoned strays. One of them showed up in our back yard, confused and frantic to be petted. We set out food for him, showed him where we keep an outdoor cat food feeder, but he didn't stay.
