Smokey. Well, I'm pretty sure. Could be Sootie but I'm PRETTY sure it's Smokey

Probably Sootie.

Madoc - seems he got 'tagged' by one of his sisters, this morning.

And the 1 lb wonder, Squeaky. I've learned I need a lot of contrasting background when photographing Squeaky.

They all mew a big 'THANK YOU' for all of the interest in their new path in life.

(132,440 posts)How are Miss Sophie and the outdoor kits doing?

(27,834 posts)However, little Squeaky hissed at Sophie and Sophie ran! She sees me holding the kittens and doesn't show any aggression. She's never been an overly territorial cat - unlike Boudicca, who went on an absolute frightening rage anytime she saw another cat, other than Sophie.
Skittish, Mittens and Scooter are here, every morning, just before sun up. Mittens is getting more comfortable with me. Scooter still hasn't made a decision about whether nor not I'm a food bearing threat.
I haven't seen Spooky in a couple of days, but then I've been kind of busy so I'm going to keep an eye out for her. She's been stopping by, regular as clock work, until recently. It's going to be pretty hot, this afternoon, so I might sit outside with a glass of wine and a good book. Sometimes the ferals stop by to point out the lack of food in the bowl. I do try to keep the water dish fresh.

My kit and I send hugs to all of you.

(27,834 posts)I try to let them sit on my lap as the clean up, after eating, and I give them scritches, soft pets and talk to them. Kind of hoping they see sitting on a human lap is a time for relaxing instead of time to shred the human into their next meal. Perhaps I exaggerate. When they kitten wrestle they either try to include me, or use me as a 'sanctuary' to escape the brawl.
Right now Squeaky is curled up on my neck, giving me chin nuzzles. He really is a sweet little guy.

(14,371 posts)get a kitten collar or harness and collar Sooty or Smokey so you know which is which. One should have a tiny distinguishing mark but it's probably too small for dsily spotting. We have to put paper collars on identicals at the shelter.

(27,834 posts)I must have had it adjusted too big because Sootie kept getting one leg through it, or getting it caught on her jaw. So I took it off to adjust it but just haven't put it back on her yet.
She doesn't mind wearing it when she doesn't have extra body parts caught up in it.

(6,680 posts)i.e. a butch cut--hair will grow back but same principle as ear tipping, a visual marker to tell them apart.
Love those smokey greys!

(11,850 posts)Have you tried marking the two similar looking kittens with lipstick?
Siwsan
(27,834 posts)I ended up buying a collar and putting it on Smokey.
When they are side by side it's a little easier to tell them apart because Smokey is fluffier and just a half a shade lighter in color. My niece can immediately tell them apart.
