conflict is about. Ethnic cleansing of who by whom? True? Historical causes?

Are Armenians fleeing a real threat or simply ‘going home’?

Why are some being arrested at the border as they try to leave?

What/who is the Azerbaijani threat?

I’m not familiar with this story at all.

Also what about all those empty, abandoned houses?

Thanks.

It's long, but provides the historical context regarding the conflicts and wars between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The article also mentions other belligerent parties in the conflict such as Russia, Iran, and Turkiye. I doubt that answers all of your questions, but it will provide a starting point to address your other inquiries.

There are also other articles available if you search for them. It always helps to read additional sources so best wishes for your journey.
