There's some question about the constitutionality of the law that Hunter violated.

On the other hand, the law restricting gun purchases by people under federal indictment is on firmer grounding. There does seem to be a question about whether Trump actually bought the gun, however. Most of the time Trump is just posing and running his mouth when he does stunts like this. There's a good chance he didn't actually buy the gun.

So once again, his defense is he's just a straight-up liar.

And, as was said, he always says he's buying pizza or some other meals for those in whatever eatery he's "visiting," then just skips out. So we really don't know the truth. But I agree, the is straightforward on this, it would have been a violation if he really bought a gun, not to mention dangerous since he obviously has no training and is not exactly teachable. Meanwhile, the president just took action to reduce gun violence. And joined the UAW picket line in Michigan while TFG is notoriously anti-union.
