Women in general do not have Egos. But in this woman's case, I am willing to make an exception. She does have an Achilles Heel. It is time we expose it.

(3,995 posts)Ego is a reflection of a person's sense of self-esteem or self-importance.
Psychology describes ego as being an innate part and parcel of human nature no matter the gender, gender identity, or lack thereof.
To be human is to have ego.

(20,514 posts)Self-confidence and self-importance can be admirable attributes. When taken too far, as in MTG's case, it becomes bloated ego.
She sees herself now as all powerful and so full of herself. She shows that when questioning others in her hostile, smug manner.
A female version of Joe McCarthy. She has no shame.

(3,995 posts)Ego is "the self".
Like anything and everything else within the human psyche the "good" and "bad" are defined in application or the lack thereof.

(3,996 posts)He affirmatively became a Democrat because there's now just one pro-democracy party. That's more than many Never Trump Republicans did.

(78,972 posts)I know he is GOP and part of the mess we are in.
But he is brilliant, very smart and knowledgeable.
And he has that same mix of idealism and cynicism that I have.
And a deep love of what this country stands for.
Or used to stand for.

Stop giving fascists a worldwide megaphone.
Germany figured this out over 80 years ago.

(2,947 posts)Schmidt's political analyses are always spot on but he's never on CBS or NBC or ABC that I'm aware of. And there are millions of people who don't look to MSNBC for their political news or look anywhere for political insight. I was amazed the foreperson of the GA special grand jury hadn't heard about the 'phone call' but I guess that's one reason she was picked as a juror in the first place.
But 60 Minutes is a popular TV production and some of it's viewers may not have known much or anything about MTG before last night. So whatever they concluded from the interview, I'm sure some conclusions were in line with Schmidt's opinions. And the more people who learn about MTG, the more people there are to defend democracy.
