Myanmar's military junta slammed for political crackdown ahead of upcoming election - ABC News (Aus)



Myanmar’s military junta has dissolved the party of former leader Aung San Suu Kyi after it allegedly missed a deadline to register for an upcoming election, despite there being no date set for the poll. But analysts are warning a vote could see violence intensify among the public, who are vehemently opposed to any moves to legitimise the military’s control of the country. Senior adviser at the International Crisis Group Richard Horsey explains.
