The study found that states run by Republicans have a lower age of death than states run by Democrats, and the researchers say that the reasons are crystal clear. According to new data compiled by researchers at Syracuse University, Harvard, Virginia, Commonwealth University, University of Washington, University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Western Ontario, Canada. It turns out living in a Republican controlled state is hazardous to your health. And the researchers at all of these very prestigious universities looked at all of the available mortality data and they concluded that Republican Republican policies will send you to an early grave because if you live in a Republican controlled state, your life expectancy is lower than people who live in, live in states controlled by Democrats, which is of course terrifying news for me because I live in a red state that is controlled solidly by Republicans and has been for more than 20 years now. So that means that if you're watching this from New York or California, your life expectancy is greater than mine. And the reasons could not be any more obvious to these researchers. Let me read this. They found that more liberal policies on the environment, gun safety, labor, economic taxes, and tobacco taxes in a state were associated with lower mortality in that state. They added, quote, especially strong associations, were observed between certain domains and specific causes of death between the gun safety domain and suicide mortality among men between the labor domain and alcohol-induced mortality, and between both the economic tax and tobacco tax domains and C V D cardiovascular mortality.

And of course, Democrats have better laws on the books in the states they control than Republicans do in the red states with regards to, of course, gun control, the economy, social safety, net programs, the environment. Hell, yeah, that's an obvious one. So there you have it. I mean, this research that was recently published in, uh, the journal plus one tells you that if you live in a red state, you are not gonna live as long as somebody who lives in a blue state because of Republican policies. It's not geographic. It's not because, Oh yeah, but red states are in this, you know, heat belt here. No, it's not geographic. It is 100% based on policies, Republican policies kill ya quicker. That is what this study is telling us. And here's the worst news. Republicans control 61% of state legislatures while Democrats control 35%. Um, in terms of whole state governments, Republicans controlled 46% and Democrats controlled 12.

There are 12 states that are divided. So 46% of the states in this country, almost half are solid Republican control, Republican governor, Republican State House, Republican State Senate, solid Republican control about half the states in this country. And we're all going to die sooner than our Democrat state counterparts because of the policy choices of these Republicans. Now, you know what? This is the kind of thing that probably needs to be in ads, right? This is the kind of thing that people need to see on their tv. Like, Hey, if you're living in a red state, you may want to get a will in order because you're gonna die earlier than folks in blue states. The science proves it, but even though they have an advantage on keeping people alive longer, Democrats are still really, really bad at messaging. So I can pretty much guarantee you this will be the last and only time you hear anybody talk about this study.

Because these findings were also discovered in a study several years ago. IIRC the difference was pretty significant, with Blue Staters living 6-8 years longer. I don’t recall who conducted the study, but I think it was a Common Dreams article in 2020.
