US President Barack Obama (L) and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney (R) participate in the second presidential debate, the only held in a townhall format, at the David Mack Center at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, October 16, 2012, moderated by CNN's Candy Crowley. It all combines to show white hot anger. The outrage of rich plutocrat who is not used to being humiliated by anyone, especially a woman and a n----- (you know that's what he was thinking)

(1,098 posts)That is the face of someone very used to having it all his own way suddenly realizing he may not get his way. I'll bet he made that same face at the age of 4 before throwing a tantrum and screaming at his nanny. Very scary face - the man has not one ounce of compassion in his soul for anyone less fortunate than he is.

(8,200 posts)I have sat in many executive sessions when the CEO has cast blame on everyone and thing except their own self. They were rarely challenged because of the timidity and precarious position that it could result. Power often time corrupts and turns those in power into tyrants. Romney is a prime example in which he doesn't believe that anyone should challenge his outrageous lies.
How dare you question the king. He isn't waiting to become ruler of same planet after his death as a faithful believer in Mormon doctrine, he believes that he deserves to be not only ruler of the United States, but unchallengeable ruler of the world. Heaven help us if he succeeds. Along with the neo-cons who drove us into wars based on flagrant lies and to which is has aligned himself, he could bring us to the brink of annihilation in a nuclear holocaust.

(34,582 posts)the debates. Romney won the first one because he kept interrupting. Biden lost his because he kept interrupting. Obama broke even in the second because he showed some passion. Being right never seems to enter in to the discussion.

Just like Obama did last night letting Mitt walk into the Libya trap.
Major Hogwash
(17,656 posts)Mitt had no idea of what he was talking about.
None whatsoever.
Mitt has begun to believe all of the lies he has told about Libya and President Obama for the last 4 weeks, and he got schooled at this debate.
Even the moderator told him he was wrong.
This morning Joe Scarbrow said that Mitt had really messed up.
He said that Mitt lost the debate and fumbled his response about Libya so bad that he thinks the issue is dead now.
He also said that Mitt lost the debate by being so disrespectful to President Obama from the very outset of the debate.
Joe said it doesn't matter if the President is Republican or Democrat, you don't show disrespect to the President by trying to cut him off all the time during a debate.

(43,164 posts)Yes, but in the strange world of the mittster, cutting off is perceived as being manly and in charge of the debate. The fact that he tried this tactic twice in a row shows that this was no strategy he formulated for the first debate.
Rather, it shows that it's just the way he is--a guy who plays fast and loose with the truth. When the world wised up to his lie-flinging, it caught up to him, as in the debate moderator correcting him.
I think the look on his face is quite appropriate: he realized he just fell into the vat of acid.
