They look at you for 10 minutes and ask questions and go with tests. Diet is rarely mentioned, and who knows about absorption, they sure don't measure it.
Doctor Gundry:
He's a bit of a guru now into alternative medicine, and his theories are not without controversy. He's the guy who advocates against lectins as a cause of inflammation.

(29,785 posts)8. I used to study this. One critical gap here is whether the studies controlled for age, which is
inversely correlated with ZN deficiency. IOW, since Covid deaths are most common among seniors, of course ZN deficiency would go right along with it. Unless age is controlled for in these mortality studies, no conclusion can be drawn about ZN deficiency since its a common correlate of aging.
Other than that, though, this was great to see publicized!
