Trump's cabinet picks prove he is playing chicken with the Senate GOP: Who'll blink?

Everyone knew Trump would pick toadies, loyalists, and zealots to fill his cabinet positions. But some of his candidates have blown past the most dire predictions of the breadth of their incompetence. While all of his candidates are ass-kissers, they are not all equally bad. Some are even legitimate.

Secretary of State pick Marco Rubio may be a spineless cur at the end of a Trump leash, but he is a thrice-elected Senator and a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee. Doug Burgman, the Interior Secretary presumptive, is a Governor. As is the canicidal Kristi Noem, who has the nod for Homeland Security. His pick for Energy, Chris Wright, a fracking company CEO, was a typical Republican industry pick. Lee Zeldin (EPA), and Doug Collins (VA), are ex-Representative bench-players promoted to the starting line-up.

Be assured, I am not writing them letters of recommendation, but at least they are nominally qualified. And barring some major upset should pass muster with the Republican Senate.

But some are so offensive, even to Republican Senators, it makes you wonder why Trump picked them.
