Americans are anxious and frustrated about the presidential campaign, an AP-NORC poll finds
WASHINGTON (AP) Most Americans are feeling a lot of emotions heading into Election Day, but excitement is not one of them.
A new poll from The AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research finds that about 7 in 10 Americans report feeling anxious or frustrated about the 2024 presidential campaign, and a similar share say theyre interested.
Only about one-third say they feel excited.
Theres a broad feeling of uncertainty hanging over the 2024 presidential contest during the last week of the campaign. The race is competitive nationally and in key swing states, according to recent polls, with neither Democrat Kamala Harris nor Republican Donald Trump showing a measurable advantage. At the same time, the candidates have offered closing arguments that are in stark contrast with each other, with Harris arguing that Trump is obsessed with revenge and his own personal needs, while Trump referred to Harris at a rally on Sunday night as a trainwreck who has destroyed everything in her path.

(3,100 posts)it's everyone in Disarray! And no measurable advantage despite a new round of polls that says quite the opposite.
And anxiousness and frustration, by the way, are pretty different feelings. You can be anxious about the outcome, and still be excited about your candidate.
What a stupid waste of keystrokes this article is.

(159,607 posts)part of the reason we are "anxious" is we know the mainstream media just isn't doing their job well

(6,009 posts)They wanted a razor thin horserace. Trump supporting media reflects his inability to deal with adversity. He got enraged at one stop today, not sure which one, and claimed that if the election were fair, he would win all the votes in every state. He's insane, deluded, demented and out of his mind and the media goes on just like he's the "other candidate." No problem.
I realize his campaign people have no control over what he does or says but he's been on a tear the past week, while Democrats get in his face and goad him in the ribs to get the kind of reactions out of him that win votes for us.
