These Young Women Didn't Want to Vote for Biden. They're All In on Harris.
(New York Times) Constance Lancelle, 22, of Milwaukee, was definitely not interested in voting for Biden, she said. But with Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential candidate, she said, I feel like politics have been a dream.
Sierra Sanson, 23, of Medford, New Jersey, planned to vote for Jill Stein of the Green Party, or not at all. Now shes thrilled to support Harris: Shes a badass woman who I want to see succeed.
Emily Baumel, 27, of Madison, Wisconsin, hadnt planned to vote for president, but will now vote for Harris: I have a lot less dread; I like how much hope shes giving people.
Harris candidacy has reinvigorated many Democrats and independents and particularly young women. Their newfound enthusiasm is evident in interviews, and in early signals from polls in swing states and nationwide.

(13,989 posts)Enthusiastic about Kamala.
Think. Again.
(17,963 posts)...Biden and Harris are not the same people.
Why is the nyt pretending to be surprised that voters think differently about different people?

(96,534 posts)election, are NOT serious voters or particularly intelligent, especially if they are women as presented in this bullshit NY Times story, which isn't really a serious newspaper representing the best of journalism, but more like a gossip rag.
The fact is there is very little difference between Biden or Harris on the issues.
The main difference is that VP Harris is a much better spokesperson than President Biden.

(28,600 posts)These are the same people who blame Boomers for everything and claim to have concern about the environment in the future. They clearly didn't examine Biden's record, or care about it if they did, because if so, they would have been fine with voting on issues they cared about.

(44,511 posts)Im dismayed that the preservation of democracy was not enough to motivate them to vote for Biden.
ETA: Also, the preservation of autonomy over their own bodies.

(1,098 posts)I honestly don't care what these people think. The fact is, they don't, given that some would have voted third party, which means it is a vote for Trump, not for a third party.
