Today's Tiedrich rant: connecting some weird dots: did the extreme right want this to happen?

Link: https://www.jefftiedrich.com/p/connecting-some-weird-dots-did-the

nobody knows a fucking thing right now.

this twerpy little incel Thomas Matthew Crooks — no one knows shit about him. the only facts we have are that he was a registered Republican, that he voted Republican in 2020, and, according to a high school classmate, he had ‘conservative’ views.

everything else is a mystery. we don’t know his motive. we don’t know who he was listening to, who he was following on social media, or what lunacy they were filling his ears with — and he’s not going to be telling us any of this shit any time soon, seeing as he’s now a bullet-perforated meatsicle.

but what we do have is a lot of weird dots. so what I’m going to do today is lay out these weird dots — feel free to connect them any way you see fit.

How did he vote Republican in 2020? FBaggins Jul 2024 #1
How did he donate to act blue when he was 17. They are still spreading that misinformation. Walleye Jul 2024 #2
Why is that misunformation? FBaggins Jul 2024 #4

ActBlue sets an age requirement for donations, but they aren't going to verify age for $15 donations... and the FEC doesn't forbid donations by 17 year olds.

I don’t think it’s important anyway. We have no idea what the motive was in this shooting.

Internet sleuths found someone else with a similar name - but the address didn't match.

As you say - I can't see why it matters. He might of made the donation mistakenly thinking that it was a nonpartisan group... or the person asking for the donation might have been a cute kid from the local college. $15 does not indicate some level of dedication to a political cause years later.

Not, frankly, does registering with a party. His parents are reportedly Democrats. Maybe he was rebelling - or maybe he was one of those PA democrats who registered republican for the primary so that they could vote against Trump.

None of which really adds anything to why he decided to shoot the former president.

The kid's PA voter registration has already been posted on DU, he registered in 2022. And he declared his membership in the GOP. Usually when a kid joins a party before they even vote the first time, it's the same party as the parents.

I don't know, I'm just spitballin' here. Most kids have so little interest in politics that they barely notice these things called "elections." The kids who do declare a party may have been influenced by parents' attitudes, but might change their minds later on down the road.

Some indications that the party may be having second thoughts about Donny. Mike Flynn's name comes up. I like Tiedrich, but he often pulls info from social media posts without verifying it. So he has to be read with a grain of salt. But they are interesting dots. Donny is indeed trying to distance himself from Project 2025. He could conceivably be not conservative enough for the far RW. He's old, not to mention the dementia signs and batteries and sharks and flushing toilets and "waterspots" and gibberish. And we know republicans turn on their own. Maybe enough of them are tired of being blackmailed. Maybe having him disappear has some appeal. This is what I got from this rant, more than info on the shooter. And, again, grain of salt.

A lot of his stuff comes from Google and Xwitter, perhaps a little Facebook too, I don't know. Much of it can't be verified, and should be at least 50% discounted.

Since I don't spend anytime on those MSM websites myself, I kind of like that he does it and also manages to keep his sanity. But everything Tiedrich posts - including this - is "grain of salt" stuff.
