The press was hoping for a repeat of the debate. Instead, President Biden took them to school.
In a ridiculously anticipated press conference at the conclusion of the NATO summit—during which the president has actually been doing the job people suddenly aren’t sure he can do—Biden stood before a press corps which has seemingly forgotten its adherence to journalistic neutrality, and reminded them, and everyone else, why he’s been such a successful president.
While Donald Trump, fascist and kisser of dictators’ asses, hosted the autocratic prime minister of Hungary, Biden discussed foreign policy and NATO’s plans to defend democracy from Vladimir Putin, the enemy of the Western alliance. He called out my uncle for his obeisance to authoritarians. He highlighted his administration’s economic achievements while making it clear that he is in this race to win it. It was the Joe Biden we know—the man who has guided this country out of one of its darkest eras.
But Pres. Biden doesn’t just show up for big press conferences. He shows up for our allies and rallies NATO to stand up to Russia, our collective enemy, that illegally invaded Ukraine and continues to slaughter its citizens. He continues to strengthen our economy and, under his stewardship, prices have gone down for the first time since the pandemic. He continues to create jobs and monthly reports prove that he is the greatest jobs president of the modern era. He has rescued the economy in the wake of the worst administration since Herbert Hoover.
