I came across this today. A nice bit of history on "Originalism" in the Supreme Court by Truthdig contributing writer, Bill Blum. It is the first of a multi-part series, and now I want to read the next articles.

7. This court is our paramount threat

This article makes that even more clear.

Compared to the reich-wing Court, Trump is a mere distraction.

We've seen what they can do to women's rights. Next up: democracy itself. State legislature theory. Sure, the theory is absurd. Think that'll stop them?

He left out the part about shooting people in their own homes.

Some folks think that the rulings against Trump are a sign of moderation. That's like waiting for Trump to "be presidential", like all the breathless media panted in 2017. They're throwing Trump to the wolves now as sacrificial meat because he's no longer useful to the oligarchy (If you want names, just look at the Forbes billionaire list).

The reich caucus has a 6-3 supermajority. We let them get away with cheating, perjury and fraud to get confirmed. They are now the real rulers of the US, and they're determined to make it a slave theocracy.

I had high hopes that we would expand the Court. It should have been done while we had the power to do it. Fighting for that could have brought out the plurality of US voters who didn't vote and kept the reich from taking the House; it was close enough.

The people we've hired to work politics need to work on fixing the Court. We are in worse danger than during Trump's worst. Add 4 more Justices!
