Which Air Force One is going to Trump library? Son's comments raise questions

Source: USA Today

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump has been saying for more than a year that the Boeing 747 jet donated by Qatar to use as Air Force One eventually will be the centerpiece of his presidential library.

“I don’t get it,” Trump said in May 2025, pushing back at any suggestion he will keep the plane for himself after he leaves office: “It’ll go to my library." Yet Eric Trump, the president's son who is overseeing the library's planning, suggested in a new interview that the library will feature a different plane.

Eric Trump said in a July 9 Palm Beach Post interview that the Air Force One with the 29000 tail number ‒ one of the two older planes that the new Qatari plane replaced ‒ will “be at the base” of his father’s library. The plane slated for the library has decades of presidential history, Eric Trump said, including from his father’s first term.

“That aircraft's been flying for 30 years,” Eric Trump said. “That was the aircraft that George W. Bush got thrown on in the height of 9/11. It was commissioned by (Ronald) Reagan. It has something like 6.5 million miles with a president on board over the course of 30 years. "So the plan for that is to put that in the base of the building," he added. He did not mention the Qatari-gifted plane.

He'll put the old plane at the library and fly around on the plane from Qatar after he leaves office. They ought to make him pay for both of them, but they won't.

His new Potemkin airplane is a prop.
It was a rush job and would get shot down.

A presidents final flight is on a VC-25.
After that, his unarmed personal airplane is a big target with his name on it.
Iran will pay how much? Pity if something happened to it.

Without the military, he isn't going anywhere.

By the time he is done, no one will want to hear from him again.

Miami Dade College, located just south of the Freedom Tower, facing museums and the Kaseya Center."

I know that area very well. Freedom Tower (The old Miami News building, later converted to the Cuban refugee center) sits along Biscayne Blvd in downtown Miami. The property south of the Tower is occupied and surrounded by other large buildings. Moving a huge jet into that site will be nearly impossible, unless it is first dismantled, then re-assembled inside the library.

Also, Miami Dade College and the State (DeSantis) have (illegally) approved transferring the 2.6-acre downtown parcel Miami to Trump's library, even though it belongs to the citizens of Miami-Dade, and cannot simply be "gifted" to Trump. This proposed "illegal giveaway" is being blocked by various legal challenges filed by citizens' groups in M-D County.

Refresh my memory ... Which presidential airplane did Obama get to take home with him?

but he still needs a plane for his library (because who doesn't need a plane for their library). So he's taking AF One as well.

Makes perfect sense, if you're a Trump.

12. Sure. So they can press a button and blow it up, or track it anywhere and either shoot it down with a missile

or be waiting for him where he lands. Real smart for a guy who's hated all over the world. His family probably sees this as a way to extend his SS protection to themselves by travelling with him but once he's dead they won't get SS protection.

And he killed the Ayatollah's family members.
