As Donald Trump unleashes curse-filled threats against Iran, Democrats are raising alarm over his mental stability and calling for his removal from office while Republicans remain conspicuously silent. Democrats are escalating their rebukes as the 79-year-old president delivers rambling, incoherent speeches, hurls puerile insults at US allies and brazenly threatens to commit war crimes. He used an Easter Sunday social media post to warn Iran to Open the Fuckin Strait, you crazy bastards, or youll be living in Hell.
The president followed up by insisting that a whole civilization will die tonight if Tehran does not meet his latest deadline to agree to a deal that includes reopening the strait of Hormuz. By Tuesday afternoon, more than 20 Democratic members of Congress had called for Trumps cabinet to invoke the 25th amendment to the constitution to remove a president who is deemed unfit for office.
Rashida Tlaib of Michigan wrote on the X social media platform: After bombing a school and massacring young girls, the war criminal in the White House is threatening genocide. Its time to invoke the 25th Amendment. This maniac should be removed from office.. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota wrote that Trump is an unhinged lunatic and demanded: When will it be enough for my Republican colleagues to grow spines and remove him from office?
Mark Pocan of Wisconsin added: 25th Amendment RIGHT NOW! Trump is too unhinged, dangerous, and deranged to have the nuclear codes!. They were joined by Marjorie Taylor Greene, a former Republican US representative turned Trump critic. She wrote: 25TH AMENDMENT!!! Not a single bomb has dropped on America. We cannot kill an entire civilization. This is evil and madness.

(765 posts)Ask them if they are in favor of the annihilation of Iran. If they say "no", then ask them why they have not publicly disagreed with the President on this issue. If they are not going to stand up to Trump on genocide, then that means they will support anything he will do.

(3,501 posts)blind partisan hacks who refuse to acknowledge how dangerous Trump is and how unfit for office.
Whether Trump carries out his deranged threats of war crimes or not is irrelevant that he makes such bizarre threats alone warrant his removal from office.

(29,797 posts)Senator Paul:
A, whole civilization will die tonight, trump says. He has not only committed war crimes already, now it sounds like he's going nuclear. He is dangerously insane. He has dementia. He's not healthy. His goals include making as much money as possible using his office, erecting monuments to his glory, and arresting/bombing anyone he doesn't like. Scary that he has the nuclear codes, and apparently thinks any fallout will stop at Iran's borders.
He is openly talking about continuing and enlarging his commitment of war crimes, and destroying infrastructure. Anyone, Republican or Democrat, who stays silent and does nothing is complicit in these crimes.
Please, PLEASE, push for declaring the 25th Amendment, or impeachment. I know you want to be on the right side of history on this intolerable situation.
Sincerely,

IOW, "'Absence of evidence' doesn't necessarily mean 'evidence of absence'".
