Eric Trump, the son of President Donald Trump, released a video on social media showing the first renderings of his father's presidential library and museum.
"Over the past six months, I have poured my heart and soul into this project with my incredible team at Trump," Eric Trump said on X on Monday, March 30. "This landmark on the water in Miami, Florida, will stand as a lasting testament to an amazing man, an amazing developer, and the greatest President our Nation has ever known. These images have never been seen by the public until today. Enjoy!"
The images, shared in a nearly two-minute video on X, show a tall glass tower beaming over Biscayne Bay in Miami, adorned with the name "Trump" in lights near the top. Scenes from the ground level show a gold-colored entryway with the presidential seal and a gold-colored statue.
Images of what appear to be recreations of the Oval Office and the controversial East Wing ballroom that he is constructing at the White House are also shown. Air Force One appears multiple times in the video.

(20,581 posts)It's Donald Trump you'll have to convince. 😁

(20,867 posts)It's ridiculous anyway. The plane shown is smaller than a real 747 and probably more of a wish list than a serious proposal. It's important to note that he will be seeking "donations" largely after he's out of power.
He's really milking the bribery wagon on his ballroom, his arch, and general spending money to start collecting billions on this monument to himself. I have to admit though, that there is plenty of office space to store top secret documents for sale.

(2,087 posts)There are reasons why there's no other skyscrapers in that area.
The ground is very thin in Miami. It constantly floods.

(53,395 posts)I don't know Miami well enough to be definitive on that. But apparently Miami has all of Florida's tallest buildings. That surprised me since Jacksonville is actually larger.

Lots of skyscrapers near the water.
It sorts reminds me of Austin's skyline. Always building something.
The intercontentinal hotel is right on the water and has 47 stories with 5 stories of parking at the bottom. So, it makes it 52 stories.

(16,444 posts)"According to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), money laundering through real estate is one of the oldest known ways to move and hide illicit funds. Often viewed as a popular means to wash funds because large amounts of money can be laundered in one transaction, a report by Global Financial Integrity (GFI) found that more than $2.3 billion was laundered through US real estate from 2015 to 2021.
In our State of Financial Crime 2025 survey, 51 percent of respondents cited high-end asset laundering, including real estate, as one of their biggest financial crime concerns. Due to the far-reaching impact of money laundering on the property sector including consequences of a social and economic nature its critical for compliance professionals to understand how the typology works and what tools are needs to better mitigate the risk it presents.
How does money laundering through real estate work?
Money laundering through real estate integrates illicit funds into the legitimate financial system while also providing the criminal with a relatively safe property investment. This can include the purchase of houses, apartments, office space, factories, hotels, vineyards, etc.
Criminals can further enrich themselves by:
Renting out a property they have purchased
Renovating a new property and re-selling it
Cashing in on property appreciation over time
In addition, the price of real estate is fairly easy to manipulate and, with collusion, property can be over- or undervalued. In fact, gatekeepers in the sector realtors, property developers, mortgage advisors, brokers, etc. have sometimes been found to be complicit and accept financial compensation to turn a blind eye to real estate money laundering.".... (more)
sop
(18,599 posts)came from. After a short time they can sell the property to another buyer for U.S. currency. The proceeds from that sale are "laundered" because money was the result of a legitimate real estate sale.

(1,397 posts)This project could have only been designed by a narcissistic sociopath who is only interested in his "legacy" by constructing monuments to himself. The obliviousness to what is happening in this country and the world is perfectly captured in this monument of nothingness.
Besides, climate change would likely cause it to collapse into the sea, anyway.

Depending on design, 47 stories is between 550 and 700 feet.
In comparison, Obamas library in Chicago is 180-feet in height; 1/3rd that of Trumps.

No, having the tallest building, being the loudest and most obnoxious, doing animalistic domination rituals against and humiliating others does not mean you are superior to them. We don't care about your little proverbial (or literal) fucking trophies and accomplishments that you shove down our throats.
Small minds are impressed by this shit. The Trumps have all this money and yet are somehow the most insecure little man-babies on the planet. How is this possible?
