Trump's inner circle showing 'buyer's remorse' over Iran war and fear president was 'high on his own supply,' report say

Source: The Independent

Monday 16 March 2026 12:26 EDT

Members of President Donald Trump’s inner circle are experiencing “buyer’s remorse” over the Iran conflict and are beginning to regard Operation Epic Fury as a disastrous mistake, according to a report.

The U.S. and Israel launched surprise joint airstrikes against Tehran in the early hours of Saturday, February 28, killing Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Ayatollah Khamenei on the first day of the aerial bombardment, ending his 47-year authoritarian reign in one fell swoop.

Iran quickly hit back with retaliatory strikes of its own against its Gulf neighbor states hosting American and Israeli military assets. So far, 13 U.S. servicemembers have died. Meanwhile, Tehran’s moves to target tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, through which one-fifth of the world’s total oil supply is shipped, have caused global fuel prices to soar.

Now an administration source quoted by Axios has claimed that Trump was “high on his own supply” when he gave the greenlight for the joint operation to commence.

Malignant narcissism becomes more pronounced with age. Could result in oodles and boodles of plastic surgery. Or invincibility delusions. Or younger and younger companions, no matter the cost. Power is not studied as much because of fewer examples. Mix in Operation Epstein Files, and there you have a home brew.

The 25th amendment can remove the president temporarily more easily, but impeachment and conviction may be the easier route to permanently remove the president than the 25th.

Temporary removal – only requires a vote of the VP and the majority of the cabinet. But is only lasts until the president writes to Congress saying he is fit. After that the VP/Cabinet have a maximum of 4 days to argue. If they don’t the president is reinstated. If they do it takes a 2/3rds majority of both houses to keep the president out of office.

This means in our current situation he would only be out a week at most.

Permanent removal is the same as above, but the VP/Cabinet claims he is unfit for office and Congress votes - 2/3rds majority of both houses - to permanently remove him.

Impeachment takes a simple majority of the House and conviction and permanent removal takes a 2/3rds majority of the Senate. This is easier by 1/6th of the House and not needing to involve the cabinet at all.

The 25th is a temporary fix at best and relies on the competence and courage (or self-interest) of his hand-picked lapdogs.

The impeachment/removal process is still our best bet for permanent removal – other than waiting until either the end of his term or the end of his life removes him first.

And so we wait.

I doubt it would actually work, but a bunch of people in that inner circle need to sit him down and read him the riot act. Threaten to 25th him if he doesn’t do something.

Think of all the good, decent people we have lost in recent months, and yet there he is, the most vile, toxic, wretched being ever to occupy the presidency.

God, I loathe him and his enablers.

He lives in a fantasy world created by his malignant narcissism and cruel psychopathy. He doesn't just believe his own hype. He is so immersed in his own delusions of brilliance and power he lost all contact with reality years ago.

The true insanity is the number of people who joined him in his deluded bubble.

As more of them crash into the wall of reality, there will be more and more "leaks" about his volatility and opposition in the ranks.

Idiocy? Lunacy? Stupidity?

Those are all his strengths... They liked that when they weren't being harmed. They liked the "make-believe" picture he painted because it appealed to people who shared his prejudices and who bought the rest of his foolishness...

And now? Everyone is still too chickenshit to step up and tell him some truth.
Get used to those feelings of buyer's remorse!

Those being:

1. Less competent than Trump at running a country.

2. Capable of loud bluff and bluster that signify nothing.

3. Unable and unwilling to tell Trump he is mentally defective and doing it wrong.

Result?
Well, we are watching it in action now.

Let's face it, America is a world superpower in decline.

Only two things can rescue America.
1. Celebrating the day of his death and declaring that a public holiday to be repeated every year.
2. Removing anyone tainted by the smell of the Orange Menace from any position of power.
