Source: huff Post
The president claimed he would slash energy prices by half or more. Gasoline is slightly cheaper. Just about everything else is up substantially.

WASHINGTON When President Donald Trump visits Texas Friday afternoon to brag about his energy policies, he may want to elide the promise candidate Donald Trump made about energy as he sought to return to the White House.
Energy costs, all of it, air conditioning, heating, all of it, including gasoline, will drop by more than 50% within the first 12 months, Trump said at a campaign stop in Pennsylvania in August 2024.

Under the Trump economic plan, we will cut your energy prices in half, he said the next month in North Carolina. Mark it down, you can get very angry at me if we dont do it.
Those who did mark it down are likely angry, if not enraged. Trump has completely failed to deliver on what clearly was, even at the time, an outlandish promise. Not a single energy-related commodity, including those Trump specifically mentioned during the campaign, costs half as much as it did a year ago, according to a HuffPost analysis of federal data.

(961 posts)He LIED; in most cases he has done the opposite of what he promised. His insane "tariffs" have caused irredeemable inflation; his cutting medicaid and ACA subsidies have caused many to lose health insurance; his DOGE fiasco has saved NOTHING and raised unemployment numbers. I haven't seen corporations flock to the US to build factories, so no "manufacturing boom." His nazification of the "immigrant problem" has caused more problems and solved nothing. IMO, he's an abject failure.

(10,027 posts)People aren't as fucking stupid as you think Trump. They know what their energy costs are and they also know very well what a gallon of gas costs where they live--and it's NOT as low as $1.00 per gallon.
