SAN FRANCISCO, Feb 17 (Reuters) - The state of California is preparing a lawsuit challenging recent federal changes to U.S. childhood vaccine recommendations made by the Trump administration, the state's attorney general said in an interview on Tuesday.
Rob Bonta, the attorney general of the most populous U.S. state, also said he would "maybe" be open to working with the Trump administration and U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to limit broad federal immunity for drug companies over alleged vaccine injuries.
HHS did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
A California lawsuit over the childhood vaccination schedule would add legal pressure on the administration, as medical organizations and public health experts have warned the changes could lower vaccination rates.

(1,341 posts)Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System. The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program is a no fault compensation program for anyone who suffers an adverse reaction to a vaccine. It's been in place for decades.
In rare cases, A vaccine can cause a serious problem like a severe allergic reaction. The DPT shot can cause an arthus reaction but its really unusual. I looked it up once and there are under 20 of these in any given year in America.
I, myself, had a bad reaction to a Shingles shot. Not bad enough to seek compensation but I did report it through the VAERS system. My sister also had a severe reaction. A lot of these incidents are due to genetics and not the integrity of the vaccine hence the government compensation program.

It is meant to capture as many actual events as possible. Unfortunately, the nutbags of MAHA reported all sorts of junk and the media and Republicans pretended it was real.
