Paul Mandelson resigns/retires from House of Lords

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Omaha Steve (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

Source: Sky News, UK

per Sky News. This results from the Epstein files.

Yesterday Parliament pilloried Mandelson, and Sky News showed a photo of Mandelson in his underwear with a female, from the files, all day long. So today Mandelson is all but out of politics. The Brits are concerned about trust in its democratic institutions as well as national security. Gordon Brown had requested an investigation into Mandelson months ago, so he's upset it took so long. There are calls to hold Mandelson accountable.

Meanwhile, fascist republican pedophiles still hold the reins of power in the US. Why is there no accountability for the rich in the US of A?? Seriously. WTF (which has becomes our country's motto under Trump)!!!

Edit: The UK media asked Mandelson why he had any association with Epstein to begin with considering he was in prison at the time. Mandelson could only say he regretted having met Epstein.

Media is now asking why Keir Starmer, PM, sent Mandelson to the US at all given his questionable past.

The Guardian
Peter Mandelson has resigned from the House of Lords after a series of scandalous emails came to light that linked him to the child sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein, including ones that apparently leaked confidential UK government communications.

The move came as Keir Starmer said he had handed a dossier to the police after it emerged Mandelson had sent a string of emails to Epstein containing briefings he received as business secretary under Gordon Brown, including action the government was taking to deal with the global financial crisis.

Starmer told a meeting of the cabinet on Tuesday morning he was appalled by the reported leaks and had also asked officials to draft legislation to strip Mandelson of his peerage “as quickly as possible”.

Always the most incompetent/ill qualified gets the position under Trump, although that’s what Gordon Brown had tried to warn about Mandelson. The US has a passel of traitors like Mandelson.

It’s worth following this UK event as it will likely affect our own politics. Yesterday everyone in Parliament wanted Mandelson gone. Today he is. Our Congress is still strictly divided along party lines per Epstein, indicative of how many of our Congress members have something to hide.
