Residents near Portland ICE facility face 'sustained poisoning': Suit

(NewsNation) — Residents living in an affordable housing complex 100 feet from a Portland Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office accuse the federal government of making their lives unbearable due to the ongoing protests and actions of federal immigration officers and agents, according to a federal lawsuit. Residents who filed declarations last week in a lawsuit say they have experienced “sustained poisoning” due to the use of tear gas and other chemical agents.

The lawsuit alleges that residents are now forced to sleep in gas masks and are coping with a variety of health problems after being exposed to the nonlethal weapons being used by federal immigration officers. Portland’s Mayor, Keith Wilson, is demanding that ICE officers leave the city after a protest outside of the facility where tear gas was deployed by officers.

Those living in the Gray’s Landing apartment complex have also asked a federal judge to issue a temporary restraining order against agents from using tear gas that is “likely to infiltrate” the apartment building except when federal agents are being threatened, according to a court filing. Gray’s Landing is home to nearly 240 low-income residents, including veterans, senior citizens and children.

Protests surrounding the Portland ICE field office have remained constant over the past year but have intensified over the past month since a federal immigration enforcement operation has been ongoing in Minneapolis. Reach Community Development, the nonprofit organization that manages the building, said it has invested more than 100,000 in air purifiers and filters in the building as well as assisted residents with relocating to other buildings to live, NewsNation local affiliate KOIN reported in December.

This is an island off the coast of Africa with such dismal conditions most of them would die.

But Hitler couldn't figure out the logistics of transporting so many people so far away.
Especially after the British imposed a naval blockade on Germany during the war.

Now Trump is doing the same thing, deporting people overseas to detention camps
where they will die.
