Noem says body cameras going to all DHS field officers in Minneapolis

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Monday that body cameras would go to immigration agents in Minneapolis, where there have been calls for accountability after two deadly shootings. Body cameras will go to agents nationwide when funding is available, she said on X. Noem said that the move was in the interest of transparency.

Noem and federal immigration enforcement agencies, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement, have come under scrutiny for the actions of agents in Minneapolis during an enforcement “surge,” including the fatal shootings of two U.S. citizens.

“Effective immediately we are deploying body cameras to every officer in the field in Minneapolis,” Noem wrote.

“As funding is available, the body camera program will be expanded nationwide. We will rapidly acquire and deploy body cameras to DHS law enforcement across the country,” she said in the post.

BC’s don’t exist if they’re not turned on. More bluster from DHS to appear they care about being accountable. Relying on BC’s to substantiate truth and reality in this regime is naive. Employment of any audio/video tech begs the question like the familiar electoral graft of who gets to count the votes. Make no mistake the well-funded and hidden ai developing its own version of things is in full swing by DHS. As corrupt and desperate to control the narrative in spite of the facade of lawfulness why would they not turn BC’s into factories producing legions of respectable professionals honoring their tin badges?
