Bill Clinton Responds To Epstein Files Swimming Pool Photos

A spokesman for Bill Clinton has responded to the latest Epstein Files release, accusing Donald Trump of scapegoating the former Democratic President. Newsweek has reached out to the Clinton Foundation via a contact form on its website for comment.

Clinton appears prominently in a batch of undated and heavily redacted photographs, including images of him at a swimming pool alongside Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Clinton's chief of staff, Angel Urea, issued a statement addressing the former president's appearance in the files. He said: "This is not about Bill Clinton. Even [White House chief of staff] Susie Wiles said Donald Trump was wrong about Bill Clinton." He added: "Everyone, especially MAGA, expects answers, not scapegoats."

The Justice Department stated it found no evidence to predicate further investigations against uncharged public figures, including Clinton, and noted the extensive use of redactions to protect victims' privacy. Despite this, the prominence of Clinton in the released photographs drew public and media attention. By contrast, Trump appeared in just a few images and was not featured as extensively in the initial release.

But Clinton was President in the 1990's, Epstein was still cutting his teeth at this point. There was no Epstein Island at this point. Once Clinton became President and everyday since until he is gone, everything he does is very highly scrutinzed, he is under 24/7 Secret Service detail. Even if he wanted to do these things, it would be VERY difficult for him to pull off discreetly. He isn't stupid a person, and even if he wanted/needed to have affairs and rendezous, he wouldn't need an Epstein to facilitate it, and wouldn't be so careless to pursue them in that manner. He has to have learned to be exceedingly careful in eveything he does due to the relentless persecution of the right.

9. Not just the ages of the women, but the timeline

They were from before he was ever President. That's my point. After he was elected President, even if he was behaving badly, with the intense scrutiny and constant Secret Service presence how could he have been realistically deeply involved with what Epstein was doing without leaving and easily followed trail, even if he wanted to. And Epstein's sex trafficking wasn't in high gear until after Clinton was elected.

I doubt the Secret Service would allow him to go off with some unknown teen girl for a private massage without an FBI Background check first.

T47 only went to Epstein Island and to Epstein's personal residences on top of procuring underage models for JE. Whereas Bill Clinton went on a few actual philanthropic missions before Mr E was charged in 2006.

...even if he was not as important at the time of the pics as he would later be. So it's possible he could have tried to use his influence to address the claims -- if he really cared.

The statement "cut him off before his crimes came to light" doesn't tell us why Mr Clinton chose to "cut off" Mr Epstein. It sounds to me like an attempt to distance while subconsciously admitting a closer connection. What does "come to light" mean in this context? Come to Mr Clinton's attention, or become a public scandal?

11. The "grainy 20-year-old photos" statement irks me.

I know not everyone will agree with this, but, Bill Clinton is seen in the photos being associated with probably the most notorious sex trafficker of the 21st century (or, slightly before that). I don't care how old the photos are, or, if Trump released them to try and deflect (which he most obviously did). The age of the photos and purpose of releasing them does not make them any better.

Why even say this, if not to try and minimize them? I find this statement insulting, to be honest.
